Technology Resources
-
Technology is a resource all teachers must utilize in their classrooms because students are familiar with and confident using it. Permitting students who have not mastered English to use particular tools is an extra support they can have in the classroom during the acquisition of English. Many translator resources can be used not only for students but also for teachers unfamiliar with a particular language they have in the classroom.

Translators are considered a translanguaging strategy resource because students translate words, make connections, and learn the differences and similarities between English and their language (s). If students need a "push" to formulate a sentence or even start a sentence, this resource can benefit them, but teachers need to make it clear to students that using translators may not always be correct or precise. Syntax formation can vary from English to other languages, and teachers need to make students aware of the English sequence formation so they can recognize the errors while using the translators.
The following translators' websites vary in different languages. Some have more complex translation explanations, and other translator's websites provide a word breakdown so students can identify the grammar structure of the sentences they want to form. Similarly, the translator websites provide different activities, such as suggestions for using words in different sentences or connotations.
Also, a couple of translators provide a document scanner that translates the entire document into the language needed. This tool benefits teachers because they can accommodate English learners using these resources differently. Lastly, access to those translators is free, but more advantageous services, like the document scanner, are not, but they are affordable.
